LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The primary objectives of the Exploration & Production Fundamentals training course are to:

• Learn global oil & gas related statistics, such as reserves, production, consumption and exports
• Enhance knowledge on upstream, middle stream and downstream operations and related facilities
• Familiarise the participants with various methods and techniques used to explore, drill, produce, treat and transport oil, gas and their products
• Gain an overview of the typical oil & gas operations facilities from wellhead, flow lines, separators, tanks, pumps and compressors, pipelines, gas treatment and processing, refinery operations, etc.
• Understand the basic concept with regards to evaluating oil & gas reserves, artificial lift and enhancing recovery
• Understand the challenge associated with this industry such as offshore operations, horizontal drilling and other safety concerns
• Get a general feel for basic petroleum economics

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The Exploration & Production Fundamentals training course include a number of exercises aimed at enhancing each participant capability to understand various techniques used in finding, producing and processing oil & natural gas.

A number of short films will be presented during the course to enhance the participants’ knowledge about the petroleum technology. Additionally, no prior knowledge of the topics covered in the course is required..

Pre & Post course assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of this training and measure the skill and ability of participants.
